Last Night’s EclectiNight

Last night was the first EclectiNight show in Staunton, Virginia sponsored by the Staunton Music Guild. It was a pretty awesome success, I think. The Murder Bros. were the only rock band who played, and there was Linda Swope, a classical oboe player who played with a keyboardist, and there was a Jazz Ensemble from the Valley Academy of Music, there was a Mr. Jefferson’s Trombones group that consisted of 4 Trombone players who played various crowd-pleasing tunes.

Many people showed, and fun was had by all. Funny enough, I didn’t know that I was going to be MC-ing the show, so did what I could, totally unprepared. I think it went OK. I’m looking forward to the next EclectiNight.

The idea is simple: five different genres by five different local musical acts in one place on one night. Open-minded music-lovers are going to love it.

Power of the Blood

The Murder Bros. are doing incredibly well with our new line up. Our sound is evolving, and we’re playing a bunch of new shows, including an impromptu one at the Stratton Building Event Room with Atom Fest and Wasted Year this Friday, the 20th of May.

The other big thing is that we’re going to have some new recording going on. We are planning a tour once the new CD is out. Plus, we’re going to be giving a bunch of tshirts away at the show. So, you’re going to want to show up to that.

The Loudest Party This Saturday

You know about the noise in Staunton, VA? You know about the Local Vibe? Well, the loudest, noisiest, vibest, party won’t have city officials or police officers there. It won’t be alt-country or be at an established venue. It will be at the Stratton Event Room in the basement of the Stratton building, 110 West Johnson, starting at 8PM, and it will be rock and roll. Life in a Foxhole and the Murder Bros. will make sure your ears will be ringing until the next time City Hall meets to lower the decibel levels downtown.

Last Night Was Rock and Roll

Last night at the Blue Nile was fantastic. It was cosmic. Astronomers rocked a set out to people a crowd who were very impressed by their melodic, very danceable brand of rock and roll. The Murder Bros. celebrated the arrival of our newest member, Stephan Eustler Murder, on lead guitar. At the end of our show, during our finale, our theme song, I was hitting cymbals with the headstock of my Les Paul, and then Pablo started banging on the guitar strings with his drumsticks. Karius tore off his shirt to the squealing approval from the ladies in the audience. Then Hey Girl came on, and proved that they are one of Harrisonburg’s up and coming bands. Very awesome.

Glad all of you could make it out. Sunday is becoming our rock and roll day in Harrisonburg. I’m really touched that many people came out to see us. Thanks.

The Newest Murder Brother

The Murder Bros. are pleased to announce that our family is getting bigger. We have a new lead guitarist named Stephan Eustler joining our ranks as the newest Murder Brother. Stephan has been in several bands and has released a solo project CD that’s fantastic. He brings with him an impressive set of skills that we know will really be a awesome addition to our sound. His first gig with the band will be this Sunday, April 17 at the Blue Nile. We can’t wait for you to hear what we’ve been up to with Stephan.

The Murder Bros. are going to be on Wet Paint on 98.5. 98 Rock is a local station in the Shenandoah Valley that plays some local bands, and we can’t wait to hear our song on the radio with them. You can also listen online at 98rockme.com.

And thanks a lot to everyone who came out to see the Murder Bros. at the Blue Nile in Harrisonburg on Wednesday. It was one of our best shows, and we can’t wait to play there again soon.
